After many years spent working at prestigious Boston firms where she gained valuable tax experience, Susan Archambault saw a need for a new type of accounting firm: one that combined the services of a family trust office and tax services model of quality expertise without losing sight of a client’s individuality. In December 1990, Susan filled that void in the accounting industry by founding ARCHAMBAULT & ASSOCIATES, a boutique accounting firm that combines the quality and sophistication of a large firm with the personality and price of a small practice. Decades later, ARCHAMBAULT & ASSOCIATES’ team of experienced professionals continues to embrace the core philosophy of service and to build long-term relationships with clients.

Susan E. Archambault

MST, EA, Principal, Managing Director

Susan maintains her professional education on a continuous basis in a diverse array of topics.  Susan’s commitment to learning coupled with thirty-nine years of practical insight provides Susan’s foundation for client advice.  In addition to working with our internal team of professionals on the details of our clients’ needs and planning considerations, Susan collaborates with a network of accountants and attorneys from Boston and the surrounding communities who specialize in the fields of taxation and planning.  While she works in conjunction with our clients’ existing teams of attorneys, trust officers and financial advisors, she will also assist clients in building an appropriate team.

Susan believes that planning decisions evolve with an individual’s changing life circumstances and enjoys working with her clients and families to implement the action items developed by our firm, and / or collaboratively with other professionals serving the client.  Susan will advise both family Trustees and / or Professional Trustees / Personal Representatives in their fiduciary duties of tax, accounting, and administration support matters. 

Susan resides in Lynnfield, Massachusetts with her husband, Rick. They have three grown children, Kristin, Lauren and Scott raised in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Susan and her family share love of the mountains and the oceans including swimming, boating and skiing. They support their local parish and community charities and participate in the annual John Hancock Fantasy Day at Fenway Park in support of the Jimmy Fund / Dana Farber Cancer Center mission. Susan also supports the advocacy of children / adults on the autism spectrum. For relaxation, Susan participates in small group cross-fit training, spends downtime supporting family and friends, and enjoys the Boston sports teams.

Lisa M. Colbert

CPA, MST, Tax Manager 

Lisa provides the foundation of our client work with her thirty-one years of experience specializing in taxation.  Lisa’s significant tax and accounting experience within the firm’s specialty is invaluable as she works closely with Susan Archambault and the firm’s Individual, Fiduciary and Estate / Gift Tax clientele on planning and compliance matters. 

Lisa has a unique focus for details and deadlines in our very deadline-driven field, where information is constantly flowing.  Lisa provides the detail tax review for a large group of our clients and is involved with tax preparation and planning for the complex engagements.  Lisa works a part-time schedule to maintain the balance between business and her family.

Lisa was awarded the “Certificate of Excellence” for exceptional tax workpapers, work product and commitment to our client mission.

Lisa resides in Byfield, Massachusetts with her husband, Peter and their two children.  In her free time, Lisa enjoys skiing, snowmobiling and reading.

Michelle L. Estrada

CPA, MST, Tax Manager

Michelle has over 12 years of tax experience at a Big Four accounting firm.  After working in Boston for several years in corporate tax compliance and tax accounting, Michelle transferred to the National Tax office of her firm where she serviced Fortune 500 clients and represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service.  While based in Washington D.C., she honed her skills as a tax technician, with a particular focus on attention to detail, organization, and meeting deadlines.

After moving back to Boston to start a family, Michelle refocused her career on tax issues that affect individuals and their families.  She brings her strengths of anticipating client needs and applying nuanced tax rules to different situations to the individual, estate, and trust arena.  Michelle works a part-time schedule to support her family as her children progress through school.

Michelle has recently joined the practice in December 2021 to assist Susan in all aspects of client servicing.  Michelle will be getting to know clients and processes as we head into 2022.

Michelle resides in Wakefield with her husband, Pedro, and their two children.  Michelle and her family enjoy traveling, spending time at the beach, and following Formula1 racing.  Michelle’s interests also include cooking, gardening, and fitness training.

    David J. Ryan

    JD, LLM, Senior Tax Accountant

    Dave’s focus is on the planning and tax preparation of our Individual / Private Client tax returns and our Financial / Estate planning client support functions.  On the Fiduciary side, Dave prepares Estate tax returns and supports our Fiduciary income tax and accounting work.  Dave works a part-time schedule to balance his work and young daughter.

    Dave resides in Sudbury with his wife Jennifer and their daughter Penny.  He is a long-time Red Sox season ticket holder, and enjoys all things computer-related, especially strategy, sports, and simulation games.  He is also an amateur historian of the U.S. and Soviet space programs.

    Amy M. Beaudoin

    Executive Assistant; Calendar Management, Client Support Services

    As Executive Assistant to Susan Archambault, Amy attends to all daily work, client correspondence, billing, tax and accounting packages.  Amy manages Susan’s client calendar, our staff calendar, new client relationship controls and onboarding of new engagements.  She also maintains our office docket for client trace items, new and completed matters, client preferences, contact information, and maintains our fiduciary accounting client controls.

    Amy has many years of experience supporting busy attorneys with their calendar management and client services. 

    Amy resides in Wakefield, Massachusetts with her husband, Kenny, and their three sons.  In her free time, Amy enjoys cross-stitching, flower gardening, and cooking.

    Rachel L. Miele

    Executive Assistant; Tax Administration, Office Operations, Client Support Services

    Rachel provides the administrative and para-professional support for client engagements. This includes daily work flow with a focus on our tax and office operations calendars.  Rachel is responsible for support and controls of our E-File process, the quarterly estimated tax payment process, client onboarding and maintenance, client portals, tax controls, and professional action items. 

    Rachel assists the professional team with para-professional functions to provide billing efficiencies including preliminary client work, coordinating with our client financial and law firms for tax and financial information, tax payment requests and payments, filing elections, preparation and filing of Tax Powers of Attorney, post mortem fiduciary filings and administration matters.

    Rachel has several years of experience in providing administrative support to senior corporate executives.

    Rachel resides in Woburn, Massachusetts.  In her free time, Rachel enjoys music and cooking.

    Laurie A. Warren 

    After many years of excellent service to Archambault & Associates (from 1995-2000; and again from 2010-2019) as an administrative professional, Laurie Warren retired in August 2019.  Laurie wore many hats as an Executive Assistant for Tax Processing, Billing and Office Operations.
